Location
Pingle Ancient town is located in Qionglai city of Chengdu, Sichuan province, about 1.5 houss from Chengdu downtown.
History
The ancient town of Pingle has a history of more than 2,000 years. The musicians in Pingle are good at acting; Sichuan operas are performed from time to time in local stages, sometimes it seems can slow down the flow water of Baimo River, and when it reaches the climax the actions can make your heart chill. Tea culture
The ancient town's Liaoyan area is known as "the hometown of royal tea". Once the Qiongzhou governor Liu jianguo brought the tea to Emperor Kangxi. After taste, he praised the Pingle tea as "the world's first".
Kongming Lamp
Kong Ming Lantern is also called Tian Lantern, commonly known as Wishing Lantern and Prayer Lantern. It originates from Han Dynasty, at that time it was used for military purposes. Modern people put Kong Ming lanterns as a blessing. It is usually cast during major festivals such as the Lantern Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival.
