Wolong Nature Reserve is known worldwide for “ the Hometown of Giant Panda”, “Precious Biological Gene Bank”, “Western China Natural Botanical Garden”. It is the first panda reserve with one of the best biodiversity in China and even the world. The biggest wild giant panda population live within the scope of it.

130Km northwest to Chengdu and about 3 hours drive from the International airport, Wolong Nature Reserve is comparatively easy to be reached.
Geographic condition
On the eastern ridge of Qionglai Mountains, the landscape of Wolong mainly consists of high mountains and deep valleys. Like most areas between Chengdu Plain and Western Sichuan Plateau(Tibetan Plateau), the vertical distribution of plantations are very distinctive from subtropical broad forests to Alpine meadows, which also give amazing living condition to various mammals and birds.
Precious Biological Gene Bank
When Wolong National Nature Reserve is mentioned, the giant panda comes to mind first. The giant panda let some people forget about the real Wolong, one of the richest places about biodiversity. Wolong has the biggest population of pandas because of its good natural environment and relatively complete and healthy wildlife community. On the other hand ,Panda, as an umbrella species, protecting and maintaining the natural environment in Wolong Nature Reserve.
