The vegetation in Genie various in different altitude. Between 3700-4000m, you can find mainly alpine meadow and shrubs with some broad-leaf tree such as willow, birch, maple, poplar. When it comes to 4000-4500m, there are alpine fir, spruce, alpine cypress, alpine dwarf shrub mixed forest. In 4500-4800m, alpine shrub meadow and alpine talus vegetation will be the majority. Above 4800m, you will see no green but all white snow.

However, the flower resources in Genie are relatively rich. The main ornamental flowers are Rhododendron, Primula, Lily, Gentiana, Snow lotus and so on.

Due to the road condition, the best transportation in this undeveloped destination is horse. In the mid-autumn, when the mountain became golden and yellow, riding a horse on the grassland, seeing the yak herd feeding under the sunset, is such a special western lifestyle experience.

Genie is located in the center of Kham Tibet area where, as we all know, almost the whole Tibetans believe in Tibetan Buddhism. Its harmonious and tranquil nature is a perfect place for meditation or thinking.
Old Renggo Monastery
People built a new Lenggu Monastery downstreamwhich is much bigger than the old one.
An ancient temple was just hidden by the foot of the magnificent Genie holy mountain. Lenggu Monastery, also named as Renggo Monastery, with an elevation of the 4200m, nestles the Xiaozha Mountain and faces the Genie Mountain. This old monastery, as the cradle of white hat sect of Tibetan Buddhsim, was build by the first Living Buddha in 1164 but now a yellow sects monastery.

Genie is a photography paradise. However, the way to most of the photo sites are very difficult and even dangerous. You definitely need a local guide. As we mentioned above, tourism is not developed in this virgin destination, so please do not expect very nice accommodation and be prepare for camping.
