Genie main peek
Genie Mountain lies in the southwest of Litang county of Ganzi Prefecture in Sichuan with an altitude of 6204 meters at latitude 29.8°N and longitude 99.8°E. Genie Mountain is covered with snow all the year around. It is the sacred holy mountain to the local residents. The knife-like ridges, steep and towering, make it varied topographically. Luxuriant alpine forests on the slope of Genie Mountain are followed by grassland, bushes, winding rivers and grassy marshland at the valley and alpine pasture at the farther end. Genie, a beautiful highland of magnificent landscape, a harmonious homeland of wildlife and human, a tranquil residence of pious souls.
Magnificent nature scenery
The highland scenery in Genie area is spectacular. With snow-capped mountain peeks all year around, beautiful lakes as sacred as god, virgin forests covering the deep mysterious valley, Genie is an untamed nature spirit standing by the roof of the world.
Xiaozha Peek
There are many mountains in this area leading by three most beautiful peeks including Genie Main Peak (6204m), Xiaozha Holy Mountain (5807m) and Kemailong Holy Mountain (5780m).
Xiaozha lake exists almost a maze for the road to the lake is very rugged and dangerous. Few people got the chance to make it there. Locals see Xiaozha lake a holy lake. Every time they came here, the pious local will worship it on bended knees.
Morainal lake
Except for Xiaozha lake, there are lots of beautiful lakes dotted in the mountains.
On the way to Genie, you will see many ancient ice cap which is a part of the biggest and most typical ice cap cluster in the world---“Daocheng ice caps”. It is estimated as the remains of ice sheet from the 4th ice age.
