Michael Ring

A storyteller and explorer by nature, Michael takes every opportunity to excite others about experiencing something new. Born and raised in the American southwest, Michael formed a deep admiration for the resilient animal species and indigenous groups inhabiting the Sonoran Desert. After having learned mandarin Chinese, he made the life-changing decision to move to Chengdu in search of new adventures as an expedition guide. To him, sustainable eco-tourism is the ideal industry to ensure the future preservation of the world’s wild places. By creating a dialogue between a global audience and the natural world, Michael hopes to inspire others to become active stewards of the environment. Michael is passionate about photography, conservation, and culture. He is especially interested in photographing wild animals and his favorite Chinese animals are the tragopan, Sichuanese takins, and the golden snub-nosed monkeys.
